About Copenhagen

Copenhagen is one of the Nordics' best student cities, home to the University of Copenhagen, the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Copenhagen Business School (CBS) and a cycling, hygge loving student scene.

  • 🚲Built for bikesMore people cycle than drive here, so a second hand bike is the first thing you buy and your cheapest way around.
  • 💸Pricey but safeOne of Europe's pricier cities, but also one of its safest and most welcoming, so most students budget hard and live well.
  • 🌊Harbour lifeIn summer the clean harbour baths and canals turn into the city's swimming pools and everyone is outside until midnight.

Copenhagen housing is the hard part, so start months early. Rooms are scarce and most go through word of mouth or long dorm (kollegium) waiting lists, so sign up the moment you are accepted. A student room runs roughly 5,000 to 7,000 kr a month, often with utilities included. Sites like BoligPortal and Findroommate are the main hunting grounds, and you should always register your address with the kommune once you move in.
