# The Student Life: find your people before you arrive

Moving abroad is not easy, so don't do it alone. The Student Life is built by students for international and exchange students: 128,000+ students across 85+ cities, coming together from 500+ universities.

## How it works

1. **Find your city.** Search the 85+ cities we are active in and pick where you are heading to study. 56 of them have a full guide at `https://jointhestudentlife.com/city/<slug>`.
2. **Join the community.** Drop into the main WhatsApp group for new students, the biggest Facebook groups and the Virtual Meetup. Ask anything, make plans, find flatmates and friends.
3. **Show up and party.** Welcome festivals, orientation week, nights out, day trips and dinners every week.

## What you get

- **Welcome Events:** the biggest student parties of your first weeks, the easiest way to meet everyone.
- **WhatsApp Community:** part of the Welcome Festival Package; join one to two months before the semester, meet new students moving to your city, get tips on housing and plan meetups.

## Pricing

City guides, partner deals and the Halloween WhatsApp groups are free. Event tickets and the Welcome Festival Package, which includes the official WhatsApp community of your city, are priced per city and sold in rounds, and the earliest round is the cheapest. ## Frequently asked questions

**What is included in the Welcome Festival Package?**
Access to the main student event each semester, plus the Preparation Guide, WhatsApp group access, the City Game and community support.

**Is the Welcome Festival Package open to all university students?**
Yes. It is open to all new international students, regardless of university, course or age.

**Are tickets refundable or transferable?**
Tickets are final, with a few exceptions: a full refund if you ask within 24 hours of buying and the event is at least 14 days away, if we cancel the event without a new date, or if we move it by 14 days or more. **Are there age restrictions?**
Some events are 18+ or 20+ depending on the venue. Bring your ID, there is an ID check at the entrance.

**What is the Semester Pass?**
The Welcome Package plus every party of the semester, a different venue each week with locals and internationals.
